While most branding requests I receive are to create logos for new companies, every so often older companies approach me looking for a refresh of existing materials. This year, Aimco was invited to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange in celebration of their 25 years as a publicly traded company. For the event I was asked to adapt their current logo to reflect this huge milestone for the company. New brands require building guidelines, colors and styles from scratch. What I enjoy most about this type of work are seeing what guidelines can be expanded upon and which can be broken entirely. I didn’t reinvent the wheel with this one, but I feel the end result expands upon the promise of Aimco’s brand, and matches in well with their established identity.
